The Ghana Science Association (GSA) has honoured the Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson for her contributions to capacity building and community service in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The GSA presented the 2023 Special Recognition Award’s plaque to the Vice-Chancellor during the 12th Research Seminar and Poster Presentations (RSPP) and the Celebration of the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development (IYBSSD-2023).
The two-day event, held under the theme ‘The Role of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development,’ was organised in collaboration with the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences (GAAS), College of Science, and Young Researchers’ Forum (YRF) of the Office of Grants and Research (OGR) at KNUST. The conference was sponsored by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP).
